Pedro Barboza is a Venezuelan guitarist, composer, educator and entrepreneur based in Madrid. His work brings together musical creation, teaching and the development of projects linked to music education, from a close, rigorous and human perspective.

Trained at Berklee College of Music and holding a master’s degree in composition from the University of Hertfordshire, he has built a career shaped by jazz, improvisation, composition and a deep relationship with Venezuelan rhythms. Over the years, his path between Maracaibo, Caracas, Boston, Rotterdam, London, Barcelona and Madrid has broadened the way he understands music: not only as an artistic language, but also as a space for exchange, for questions and for encounters with other musicians.

As a performer and composer, he has developed a voice of his own in which jazz converses naturally with Venezuelan rhythms and other music from Latin America. That search takes shape in his concerts, in his compositions and in recording projects such as Tres Caminos.

As an educator, he has more than 30 years of experience teaching classes, workshops and masterclasses across Latin America, the United States and Europe. In 2011 he founded the Escuela Itinerante de Música (Itinerant Music School), a project he has directed ever since, accompanying musicians of different backgrounds and paths, always with the intention of bringing musical practice closer to a deeper understanding of language and discourse.

As an entrepreneur, he is co-founder of Muse Scene Lab, a company focused on developing new tools for musical practice and on finding more human and useful ways to bring technology into learning.

Today, from Madrid, he continues to develop concerts, educational projects and new collaborations that bring together music, teaching and creation in a sincere, open and coherent way.
